Rando is available as VST3, AU, and AAX for Mac and Windows. It works in Ableton Live, Logic Pro, FL Studio, Cubase, Pro Tools, Studio One, Reaper, Bitwig, and any other host that supports those formats.
Yes. Point Rando at any folder and it scans everything. It supports WAV, AIFF, and FLAC files. No need to reorganize or convert your library — Rando reads your folder structure as-is.
No hard limit. Rando has been tested with libraries of over a million samples. Scanning time scales with library size, but once indexed, randomization is instant.
Audio classification requires an Apple Silicon Mac (M1 or later) or a Windows PC. It's not available on Intel Macs, as the feature relies on processing those machines can't handle. Everything else in Rando works perfectly on Intel Macs.
Right now they're similar tools — both let you randomize through sample libraries to spark inspiration. We're heading in different directions, though. Rando is adding Rando-specific features focused on intelligent randomization, Keyboard Designer workflows, and deeper DAW integration. Lander is building toward their own sample marketplace integration. If you're choosing today, try whichever workflow feels closer to yours.
