“Once in a while, there comes a program you just know you have to have. When I forget to record what I'm doing on my computer, Rewind is there as a backup, saving the day. What a great program!”
Great little plugin, and the new 2.50 version has made it even better for creating new ideas for tracks, all the way to shaping samples. Awesome little plugin.
The ability to set up my DAW and a mic and play around with ideas without structure is often something I do. Suddenly arriving at something either on a midi keyboard or on an acoustic guitar that I can pull out of the air is a wonderful thing. Not always successful, but the net is there with this excellent Rewind program. Thanks!
Exactly what I was looking for and the important thing is it does what is says on the box... Well, you'll have to imagine the box, but you get what I'm saying :)
First off it looks amazing! Second, I’m still adjusting to the new look!😂 I’m actually getting to see it full potential this time around because I just rebuilt my studio and bought a Mac studio. My last computer was a 2015 desktop Mac. It’s a new world with Rando now!
Awesome product! I've been collecting loops and samples since the early nineties, and Rando helps me organize the endless chaos of going through samples, and my old samples and loops feel new again. Thank you, Monkey C, for this product, can't wait to see what updates are in store for the future. Highly recommend if you are a sample/loop based producer.
Sorry I dont have pictures to share at this moment. But i will say, This is one of the best in a very small list and most creative software i've used in the last 20 plus years. award worthy. Thank you. Now back to my Monkey business.
Fun and very useful for stirring creative juices. I have over a million sound files across all types of music and FX, Midi and Trap. Rando has an uncanny way of quickly digging out and dusting off excellent options across several multi tb drives. Its a fun go to tool
Amazing sampler and sample Tool to organize or reorganize your sample, audio or Loops Library!
Instantly it became my main sampler in my a u to load song.
Love the interface , and it’s a really handy tool.
Only thing I would love to have a snap to bar feature.
Where you select/mark on fixed bar lengths like on the audio track in Ableton.
Maybe I missed it but I didn’t find something like that.
But this tool is pretty much SP404Mk2 Skipback on steroids

just license ilok to your computer, no need for a dongle! ❤️
I love Ableton Move for its Capture! I began trying to think how I might do that for audio... I purchased Rewind without a moments consideration - my reasoning... worst case scenario, it doesn't help my workflow.
Although, I do think there is room for improvement in the application, it def works as I had hoped it would!
I focus mainly on live stringed instruments and the quality of the capture is great!
I set it for 60 mins and just forget about it and play my guitar... later I can drag and drop the file into an Ableton project and grab the parts that I like and just trash what I don't.
It seems like an unnecessary step to take at first - but, like Ableton Capture - it's positivity lies in getting out of your own way and enjoying yourself and then later on taking the time to create a project in your DAW, open an audio track, worry about time signatures / bpm, effects - much more fun to create first and then go to the DAW...
Anyhow, just my 2cents.
This is the most practically useful plugin I’ve used in months…it puts the vastness of a huge /samples disk and puts the sounds in the library on the keyboard. At first I thought, well it’s just random so they’d be cool enough. But then you can search and filter the assignments … now it’s a whole different kind of tool - far more useful than mere randomization. It’s making my mind explode . Worth every penny.
Not exactly life saving - but close. The amount of times I’ve doodled around and wished I’d remembered the really cool bit a few minutes ago. Now I wish no longer. A great thing.
It makes finding all of your samples easy. one improvement would be the option to have it not load any of the ones you've already tried when you hit the Rando button. That way you could save presets of your favorite string samples etc. After 2 clicks I was getting repeat samples.

We are fixing this today!
I discovered quite a few surprising sounds and combinations that I wouldn't have easily found in my huge pile of samples.
I use the slicing feature a lot. Exporting samples and slices is straightforward, but I also record on the fly using MonkeyC's other great app Rewind.
The built-in audio effects and sequencer are a nice addition, but I usually do that in the DAW.
In certain areas, the workflow can be improved through small adjustments.
Best plugin while just jamming. Never lose audio or MIDI, whether you're inside or outside a DAW.
Rewind has a nice interface and is easy to use and to configure. You forget it is running until you need it.
The developer is very responsive.
I did not expect that it is great for practicing an guitar.
It become my hobby to listen my playing back so the quality of my practice got so much better!
I can sample just about anything that creates sound on my computer. It's actually really impressive how many sound source options it can capture from. The World is ours!
